摘　　要：从西方隐喻认知观的角度入手,通过实例探讨隐喻在科学语言中的认知功能,并述及其在科学语言中的拓展方式,以证明隐喻是科学语言中不可缺少的语言手段。This paper, from a cognitive perspective,probes into the cognitive functions of metaphors in scientific language by analyzing quite a few examples. It also expounds the ways they extend in scientific language to prove that metaphors are an indispensable approach to scientific language.
