摘　　要：20世纪20年代初,美国著名教育家孟禄应邀来华进行教育调查,期间对中国职业教育提出了自己的批评性和建设性意见：增强职业学校与社会的联络,增加中学职业课程,培养学生职业能力。这些意见和孟禄在华的有关教育调查活动一起,对当时中国职业教育近代化产生了重要的推动作用。In the early 1920s, the American renowned educator Paul Monroe was invited to China for ed- ucation survey. During that period, he put forwards some critical and constructive advices about Chinese vocational education： to enhance the contact between voeational school and society, to increase vocational courses in middle school, to train students vocational eapaeity. These suggestions and Paul Monroe＇s edu- cation survey in China, played an important role in the modernization of Chinese vocational education.
