双重自我的剖析与探寻:《黑暗之心》解读

摘　　要：著名英国小说家约瑟夫·康拉德的《黑暗之心》运用独特的叙事技巧，通过两个主要人物马洛和库尔茨的刻画，表达了作者对欧洲殖民主义势力的态度以及观点。同时，这两个人物也是作者对双重自我的艺术展现与心理追寻。在小说结尾，库尔茨作为作者自我的一个方面，走向了死亡。同时，也宣告了马洛——作者自我的另一个方面——陷入了迷失。作者由此揭示出，在资本主义制度和殖民侵略的弱肉强食法则下，殖民主义者所追求的目标与其自我存在价值的寻找是背道而驰的，那种通过双重自我而构建自我主体的努力是徒劳而无果的。Joseph Conrad,the prestigious British novelist, portrayed two remarkable characters through his unique narrative techniques in the Heart of Darkness. He expressed more about the process of self-pursuit by the way of Conrad＇s double self in the novel than merely his perspective over the European colonialism. At the end of the novel,the death of Kurtz,one self of Conrad,proclaimed the lost of Marlowe,another self of his. This exposed the contradiction between one＇s goal and his pursuit under the conditions of capitalism and social Darwinism. Therefore ,the efforts to construct one＇s subjectivity through his double-serf are futile.
