摘  要:语言学家及研究者普遍认为,衔接是创建连贯英语语篇不可或缺的部分。以韩礼德的衔接理论为依据,以南昌某大学随意抽取的分属不同年级的120名非英语专业的学生为研究对象,以他们按照国家大学英语四级考试要求所写的作文中使用的衔接手段、存在的衔接问题(包括衔接手段的错误使用及使用不当等)及问卷调查结果为语料,并借助统计软件SPSS,探讨衔接手段的使用与写作质量之间的关系、不同年级学生作文中衔接手段的频度分布状况及不同年级学生衔接手段的运用特点。同时分析学生作文中衔接问题产生的原因,并提出一些建议,以期有助于改进大学英语写作教学,提高教学效果。Linguists and researchers all agree that cohesion is an indispensable condition for the creation of a coherent English text. This paper is based on Halliday' s theory of cohesion and a cross - sectional research is conducted in this study with 120 pieces of writing and questionnaires by non - English major students in Nanchang Hangkong University who are freshmen in the first and second semesters and sophomores in the first and second semesters respectively. With the help of software SPSS, all the collected data on cohesion are analyzed on three dimensions: ( 1 ) the correlation between the quality of writing and the frequency of cohesive ties and problems, (2) the difference among students at different levels in terms of cohesive ties in writings and (3) the analysis of data on students' questionnaires. Then the paper goes further to explore some pissible causes for these problems and some suggestions are put forward with a view to improving the non - English major' s English teaching and learning efficiency.
