从颜色词的喻义特征看中西文化差异

摘　　要：汉英语言中表示各种不同颜色或色彩的词语都很丰富。不仅要注意观察其本身的基本意义,更要留心其涵义。从对比的角度分析、探究英汉颜色词语的象征意义,其涵义构成了对经过引申、转义以后的色彩的词语的不同崇尚或禁忌,这种差异性是由民族的文化历史背景、审美心理的不同而产生的,是在社会发展和历史沉淀中约定俗成的。Chinese and English Language have a very large number of words expressing different colors. Their denotation should be noticed, and so is their connotation. From the angle of comparison, this paper attempts to analyze and explore the symbolic meaning of the color words, the connotation of which enables the people to advocate or taboo color words with extension and transferred meaning. The difference is caused by the cultural historical background and aesthetic psychology of different nations, and is accepted through common practice in the course of social development and historical deposit. It is permanent phenomenon for culture difference.
