从最佳关联原则看《红楼梦》宗教词汇翻译——以闵福德译本为例

摘　　要：小说《红楼梦》与道教和佛教密不可分,其中的宗教词汇翻译对译者是一个巨大的挑战,也是翻译成败的一个关键因素。文章通过对闵福德翻译的《红楼梦》第4卷和第5卷中的宗教词汇进行分析和研究,指出译者主要采用直译、意译、借用和解释等翻译方法,符合让读者付出最少努力把握原作者意图的最佳关联原则。The Story of the Stone is a classical Chinese novel ringed with Taoist and Buddhist terms,the translation of which is a great challenge to the translator and also a decisive factor pertaining to the success of translating the whole novel.Based on the principle of optimal relevance,four methods such as liberal translation,free translation,borrowing and interpretation are proposed of the translation of the religious terms in the examples collected from the fourth and fifth volumes by John Minford for the ,, reference of translators and future translation studies.
