留美学生顾毓琇的教育思想与实践

摘　　要：顾毓琇是我国近代著名的教育家。他曾在多所高校任教,其中,在担任清华大学工学院院长期间,极力倡导和从事工程教育实践,致力于工学院建设,探讨工程教育理论,从事实上和理论上证明了工程教育的重要性和必要性;抗战时期,积极支持当时的推进师范教育运动,并表达了自己对有关国家文明兴盛和繁荣发展的师范教育的意见;抗战胜利前后,出任国立中央大学校长,视学校为"研究学术的最高机关",尊重教授地位,重聘优秀教授,完善学科发展,重视学术研究,有力地推进了中央大学的发展。GU Yu - siu was a famous educationist in Modem China. He had ever taught in several universities. While worked as the dean of Technology College of Tsinghua University, He advocated himself into the development of the college, the practice and theory of engineer education, and the preaching of its necessary and importance. During the Anti-Japanese War, he support the movement of normal education actively and expressed that normal education be the key facts to affect the development and prosperity of the nation. During the victory of anti-Japanese War he acted as the president of National Central University. He regarded the university as the highest agent of academic research. His educational measurements were mainly embodied in the following aspects ： promoting the status of the professors, giving high level salary to the excellent ones, perfecting the development of majors and attaching importance to academic research.
