摘　　要：本文在分析书面语和口语语料库基础上探讨英语中的否定。书面语采用百万词次的FLOB语料库,口语采用英国国家语料库(BNC)中四百万词的对话语料。文章首先介绍英语中的否定形式,讨论否定与非肯定形式、否定与部分倒装等关系,并在此基础上进一步探讨否定范围与否定焦点问题。This article presents a study of negation in English based on the one-million-word Freiburg-LOB Corpus(FLOB)for Written English and the four-million-word demographically sampled component of the British National Corpus for Spoken English(BNC).We first introduce negation variants and then discuss the relationship between negation and non-assertive forms on the one hand and between negation and subject-operator inversions on the other.The discussion is followed by an exploration of the scope and the focus of negation.
