摘　　要：成语翻译是一种语言应用和跨文化交际过程,它至少会涉及到语言和文化两方面,除了把一种语言转换成另一种语言外,它还需要作一种真正跨文化交际的语用转换。不同文化间的差异会导致几种语用意义的非对应的情况出现。认识到这些情况,对于译者在翻译过程中采取必要补偿手段,跨越文化差异具有重要意义。Idiom translation involves both language use and intercultural communication. Apart from the conversion of one language into another, it also entails pragmatic conversion in terms of intercultural communication in its true sense, as a result, the cultural differences will lead to the asymmetry in the pragmatic mean- ings. In this case, it is of significant importance that the translator employs necessary compensatory devices in the process of translation.
