石油科技英语词汇隐喻性特征研究

摘　　要：针对科学语言是否应该使用隐喻词汇这一论题,利用自建小型语料库,随机选出内容均衡、具有代表性的20篇文章,对石油科技英语词汇进行了实证性研究,证明这类科技英语词汇具有明显的隐喻性特征,分析了石油科技隐喻词汇产生的必然性,从认知角度探讨了隐喻性词汇在石油科技英语中的认知功能:类比假设功能、理论构建功能及陈述解释功能。A case study is made about English vocabulary of petroleum technology to answer the question whether metaphorical vocabulary should be used in scientific language.The study on 20 articles selected from a selfbuild corpus shows that English vocabulary of petroleum English bears distinct metaphorical characteristics.The author also studies the cognitive functions of metaphorical vocabulary in Petroleum English which are analogical reasoning,theory constructing,and stating.
