摘　　要：英语习语中蕴含丰富的文化信息，例如宗教文化，神话故事，历史，风俗观念等。在翻译的过程中，根据“对等理论”，译者在翻译过程中需要注意结合意义上的对等，以及美学功能上的对等：同时，为了防止文化缺失，还应该对部分特定的文化意象加以保留，以达到传播文化的目的。English idioms contain various kinds of culture information, including religion, myth, history, customs and so on. When translating English idioms, according to the "functional equivalence theory", attention should be given to achieve equivalence in meaning as well as aesthetic values. Meanwhile, in order to prevent culture loss in the translating process, some measures should be taken to preserve the distinctive culture images.
