摘 要:英语人体器官名词动用是受到转喻促动的语法现象。根据认知突显原则,人体器官的参照点能力不一,这就决定了有些名词动用已规约化,有些则只用于口语,而有些则无法动用。本文以器官名词"eye"为例,阐释了名词动用的语法转喻过程,即二次转喻促动词类再范畴化的过程,该阐释进一步论证了转喻不仅发生在概念层次,对语法同样有促动和制约作用。The use of human organ words as denominal verbs in English is a grammatical phenomenon motivated by metonymy.The reference point ability of human organs varies on the basis of cognitive principles,which presupposes the conventionality,oral-use or non-occurrence of human organ denominal verbs.The present paper conducts a case study of "eye".It concludes that the process of denominal verbs is a grammatical metonymy one which is characterized by the recategorization of word classes motivated by double metonymies.The research findings further support that metonymy not only occurs on the conceptual level,but motivates and constrains the grammar.
