摘　　要：学生自主学习是当前我国大学英语教学改革的一大热点。培养大学生的自主学习能力是大学英语教学的目标之一,而这一目标的实现过程中,教师起了不可估量的作用。文章探讨了学生的自主学习对教师提出的更高要求,从教师自身素质的提高、课堂设计到评估乃至课外活动的开展等方面,都对学生的自主学习有着很重要的影响。Learner autonomyis a buzzword in foreign language teaching. Development ofstudent’s autonomous learning ability is one of the objects of college English teaching. However, teacher’s instruction and aid is not only necessary but also significant to guarantee and enhance learner autonomy. This paper discusses the requirements for teachers on learner autonomy development. Teachers have a great influence on student’s autonomous learning in the improvement of their quality, classroom planning, assessing of students as well as after-school activities.
