浅谈英语移就形容词及其翻译

摘　　要：一、引言 《辞海》载：“移就甲乙两项相关联，就把原属于甲事物的修饰语移属于乙事物叫移就。如‘幸福水’，幸福本属于人，今移用于水，这就叫移就。”按照A Dictionary of Literary Terms的解释, ＂Transferred Epithet＂的释义是：“a figure of speech in which the characteristic of a term is transferred from the appropriate noun to modify another to which it does not really belong”词典进一步举例说明 ： “Common examples are： ‘a sleepless night＇ ; ‘ the condemned cell＇ ; ‘a happy day＇”。
