摘　　要：笔者对全球部分高校翻译院系的口译办学层次进行了调查,发现约有一半以上的翻译院系将口译教学放在研究生阶段进行,而会议口译专业则全部为研究生课程。基于以上发现,并对照分析了国内口译教学的现状后,笔者认为:目前在国内出现的申办翻译专业热潮中,口译教学必须首先找准定位,明确办学任务和目标;高校翻译院系应该成为培养职业译员的专门机构,以区别于普通外语院系;会议口译教学应定位在研究生层次,走专业化道路。A recent survey conducted by the authors shows that over 50 percent of the 61 institutions of higher learning in 24 countries and regions run conference interpreter training programs for graduate students. The authors argue, on the basis of a careful investigation into the real situation of interpreter training in China, that it is imperative for interpreter trainers to distinguishthe three notions of foreign language teaching, teaching interpreting and interpreter training, and that interpreting and translation schools, to differ from foreign language departments, should embark on professional interpreter training. Finally, the authors suggest that conference interpreter training programs in China should recruit graduate students and follow the path of professionalization.
