摘 要:联结主义(Connectionism)也称为平行分布处理模式,是兴起于20世纪80年代的一种认知理论。与静态描述语言能力的普遍语法模式相比,该理论展现出一种动态的处理信息的模式,与现实中的语言习得和使用过程十分相似,故更适于解释二语习得。本文从联结主义的基本概念和主要特点出发,讨论联结主义对二语语音习得中母语迁移的诠释,并得出该理论对英语语音教学的启示,即,在教学中应重视母语语音的作用,强化练习,不断巩固,并调动各种感官的参与。Connectionism,also known as parallel distributed processing model,is a kind of cognitive theory popular in the 1980s.Compared with the universal grammar model which describes language ability in a static way,this theory shows a dynamic pattern of information processing similar to language acquisition and use in reality,thus it is more suitable to explain second language acquisition.Based on the basic concepts and main characteristics of connectionism,this paper discusses the interpretation of mother language transfer in phonetic acquisition in view of connectionism,and summarizes the implications for English phonetic teaching,namely,stressing the role of phonetics of mother tongue,strengthening exercises for consolidation and mobilizing the participation of various senses.
