摘　　要：概述了《红楼梦》中的死亡委婉语,比较了杨宪益和霍克斯两种《红楼梦》英译版本的死亡委婉语的翻译,指出两种译本的翻译各具特色。提出在对中国传统文学作品中委婉语的英译中,译者在较好保留原文文化内涵的同时,亦应充分传达出原文的委婉意图。This thesis,through the exploration and comparison of death euphemisms of Hong Lou Meng in two versions from four different categories,pointed out that euphemistic intention of the original text should be fully conveyed while its cultural connotation being kept at the same time.
