英语专业大学生开设圣经文学必修课程的必要性研究(英文)

摘　　要：圣经文学意指囊括于《圣经》中的66部书卷。尽管学术界大多认同《圣经》是基督教文化的经典而基督教文化是西方文化的主要组成部分,当今中国的许多大学并未将此作为英语专业学生的必修课程,这样导致了学生英语语言和文化习得进度的减缓。本研究所提供的证据表明:《圣经》不仅是以色列民族的历史书和智慧书,也不仅是基督教的经典;随着欧洲和美洲的基督化,《圣经》极大地影响了英语的形成与发展,其词汇、观点与对生命的看法均带上了圣经的印记;圣经同时也为英语文学提供了材料、主题、写作技巧、语言风格和灵感,对其传统产生了根本性的影响。本研究旨在为高校在自主选择开设圣经文学课程时的决策提供理论依据,并强调了将此课程作为必修课程为英语专业大学生开设的必要性。Biblical literature is referred to the 66 works contained in The Bible. Though it is widely accepted that The Bible is the canon of Christianity and Christianity has been a major shaping force of the Western culture, many universities now in China have not yet offered English majors the course as a compulsory, thus slowing down the progress of their study. Evidence offered in this study show that The Bible does not only act as the history and wisdom book of the Israelites, nor does it only as the canon of Christianity ; with the evangelization of Europe and America, it has belped mold the formation of English language, going into its vocabulary, viewpoints and perception of life; it has also provided materials, themes, writing techniques, language style and inspiration for English literature, exerting a fundamental influence upon its tradition. This study aims to offer a theoretical foundation for colleges to decide whether to offer English majors such a course as a compulsory and strongly stresses the necessity of offering it.
