School and Community:Service Learning and Its Implications for Citizenship Education in Elementary and Middle School

摘  要:服务学习兴起于20世纪80年代的美国,从公民教育效果来看,服务学习是一种比较好的公民教育方式。许多成功的实践也表明:服务学习在培养参与型公民方面发挥着重要作用。本文论述了美国中小学服务学习计划的支持体系、实施过程,最后归纳了四个值得思考和借鉴的问题:为公民教育提供制度保障、将公民教育内容与学生真实生活相结合、学校与社区紧密联系以及加强教师教育。Service learning emerged at the end of 1980s in America, from the point of view of the effects in citizenship education, service learning is a kind of good citizenship education. A lot of practices have also manifested its vital role in fostering participatory citizens. The article discusses the supporting system and the implementation procedure of service learning in American' s elementary and middle school, and at last four problems have been pointed out to be considered and discussed, of which the first is provide institutional for citizenship education, the second is the integration of citizenship education into the students' real life, the third is how to connect with the community, and the last one is about teacher education.
