摘  要:Geochemical study shows that the degradation processes of lipid materials like alkanes are distinctive between different biological species.Thus,such processes can be used as molecular markers for identification of paleo-environment and,as a result,raises archaeological concerns.This paper describes some technological principles and methods of detecting normal alkanes,and the latest situation of its application in Chinese and foreign archaeology.Geochemical study shows that the degradation processes of lipid materials like alkanes are distinctive between different biological species, Thus, such processes can be used as molecular markers for identification of paleo - environment and, as a result, raises archaeological concerns.
