摘　　要：大学英语教学是我国高等教育的有机组成部分,它在大学生素质培养方面具有其他课程教学不可替代的作用。高校英语教师应以创新的通识教育为突破口,以提高学生的语言应用能力和创新能力为目标,全面提高大学生素质,以顺应社会发展的需求。College English teaching is an organic part in the higher education in our country,having an effect on the training of undergraduates＇ quality which cannot be replaced by other subjects.The teachers should improve the undergraduates＇ quality in an all-around way,taking the general education as a breakthrough,linguistic application and innovation as the target,to adapt to the needs of the development in society.
