我国城镇居民住宅区名称英译问题考察及翻译原则探究

摘　　要：居民住宅区名称类属于地名范畴。由于历史遗留的法理冲突、以往翻译实践的影响以及译者翻译能力等原因,造成译文信息偏离原文,影响了译名信息功能的发挥。鉴于地名翻译的特殊性,译者应在法律框架内遵循"译名准确,信息保真"、"同名同译"、"审美需求"、"受众友好"、"尊重传统,保留特色"等原则,实现译名跨文化交际的目的。The names of residential quarters should be categorized as place names.It is not unusual that their English versions spoil the informative function committed to a place name.Multi-layered factors are responsible for this situation.The specificity in place name translation determines the principles to be discussed in this paper.
