摘　　要：中英文新闻标题结构类似，但各标题类型的使用频率很不相同，翻译时需要进行转换。翻译外刊新闻标题有四种模式：译出单式标题、删除副标题、完全删除原标题、添加提要题。翻译标题和新取标题有着完全不同的规范，前者基本按照英文标题模式，侧重保留原题的语言形式；后者完全遵守汉语命题习惯，更多地考虑读者的接受。English and Chinese news headlines are similar in structure,but differ in the frequency of title types,hence the need of transfer in translation.Four modes of translation exist in dealing with English news headlines: rendering the main head,omitting the deck,deleting the whole source text title,and adding a new title.Headline translation and giving new titles conform to entirely different norms.In the former,the English headline modes and linguistic features are kept as much as possible while in the latter,greater importance is attached to the Chinese format and reader reception.
