课外泛读对英语专业学生词汇发展的实证研究

摘  要:词汇在语言交际中具有重要地位。掌握足够的词汇对于英语专业学生是一个难点。本研究试图亚过历时三个学期的课外泛读实证研究探索一种有效学习词汇的途径。研究结果发现,课外阅读英文小说可E帮助英语专业学生更好地巩固所学词汇,习得更多的伴随性词汇,同时也能提高阅读能力。Vocabulary plays an important role in verbal communication. Acquiring sufficient vocabulary is difficult for English major students. This empirical study carries out a 3-term extensive reading program to find out a more effective method for English majors to increase their vocabulary. The test results show that extensive reading can help to better consolidate the words they have learned in their English class, increase their vocabulary incidentally through much more exposures to the words in contexts and improve their reading ability.
