摘 要:1959年,傅东华重译旧作《珍妮姑娘》,受到读者欢迎,得到译界赞誉。与1935年初译本相比,重译本功能发生转变,文本宛如隔世重生。译本被赋予浓重的人民性,在内容、意义、形式和语言上均有体现,译文风格迥异,但这并非傅东华对德莱塞的原初解读。《珍妮姑娘》在新中国的重生,是文学翻译服务国家意识形态、构建国家民族文学、规范统一汉语过程的必然产物,也凝结着二十四年中译者本人对翻译理想的不懈追求和对现实的积极协调。因此,评价重译作品,重在"重"字,将新旧译本更迭、语境异同及译者历时发展列入考察视野,在动态的历史中评价新译本。In 1959,based on his earlier version,Fu Donghua retranslatedJennie Gerhardt,which was well received by the readers and highly praised by the translation critics.Compared with the first edition published in 1935,this translation appeared in a completely different style,with its function changed.It was bestowed with the character of people,not only in content and meaning,but also in form and language.The rebirth ofJennie Gerhardtis a product of literary translation serving national ideology,national literature construction and Chinese language standardization,while at the same time,a result of the translator s unswerving pursuit of translation ideal and principled compromise with reality in the 24 years.Therefore,in retranslation criticism,a fair evaluation should be made in the dynamic history with emphasis on re-?,through thorough examination of textual changes,contextual differences and translator s development.
