摘　　要：本文通过问卷调查和访谈等方法,对上海市21所高校外语专业的分布、课程设置、教材建设、教学方法、评估测试、教师职业发展等问题进行了深入的调查,指出了存在的问题并提出了相应的改进意见和建议,旨在为教育主管部门和有关高校在规划外语专业布局、学科建设以及确定外语教育目标等方面提供有益的参考。Based on the results of questionnaire surveys and interviews,this article discusses such issues as the selection of foreign languages taught in Shanghai universities,course design,teaching material development,teaching methods,testing and evaluation as well as teacher development of foreign language teaching in universities in Shanghai,pointing out that the choice of foreign languages to be taught and studied in universities in Shanghai,the different requirements for qualifications of foreign language professionals and the curriculum design for foreign language majors should be carefully planned against strategic considerations of the political,economic and cultural needs of the country and the region.
