摘　　要：随着我国国际间的友好往来日益增多,各种公示语的英文翻译已经成为各大城市极为普遍的现象。但是,伴着大量的英文公示语翻译的出现,各种典型的错误也层出不穷。常见的翻译失误主要集中在拼写、语法、语用和文化失误几个方面。其中,探讨文化差异所造成的公示语翻译失误,对于我国城市公示语的规范化具有一定的推动作用。English translations for the public signs in China have become a popular phenomenon in big cities, owning to the increasingly closer relationship between different countries. Meanwhile, a large amount of mistranslations also appeared as well. Generally, these mistranslations focus on spelling, grammar and culture misunderstandings. This paper will mainly talk about the cultural reasons in detail, which is expected to promote the standardization of public signs＇ translation in our country＇s cities.
