摘　　要：通过对阿瑟·韦利的文化身份的解读,对其文化身份与《论语》翻译之间的关系进行研究,揭示了他在向西方世界介绍中国文化的过程中所显示出的中西差异。The different cultural identity leads to their different choice and tragedy in translation,and different understanding and attitude to the culture of original text as well.This thesis focuses on Arthur Waley,one of the most famous English Sinologists in the 20'th century,and his translation of Analects of Confucius.With the translation theory of modern literature and getting reference partly from the theory of Reader's Reception,the thesis studies on the translation of Analects of Confucius and the cultural identity of Arthur Waley according to the methodology of Hermeneutics.
