摘　　要：英语在当今社会信息交流中扮演着越来越重要的角色,英语口语的学习和提高因此显得特别重要。但对大多数英语作为第二语言的学习者而言,英语口语又是一个难点。三本独立院校的学生有其自身的特点,如何利用大学英语课堂的前五分钟提高学生英语口语以及学习英语口语的兴趣正是本文所要探讨的话题。English as a tool of communication has been playing an important role all around the globe, which makes it rather necessary to learn oral English better nowadays. However, for many of the learners who study English as a second language, oral English seems to be more difficult than other English skills such as writing and reading. Meanwhile, students from the independent colleges in China have their own difficulties in learning English. This paper will try to offer an approach about how to help students improve their oral English through the practice in the first five minutes of each class.
