摘 要:本研究运用中介语对比分析法和语料库分析工具对中国理工科大学生英语口语中的连词使用情况进行了探讨,揭示他们在口语中使用连词的特征以及与英语本族语者使用相比的异同和问题。研究发现,不同水平组学生在连词使用的总频数上没有显著差异,但在连词种类使用多样性上存在显著差异:与英语本族语者相比,中国理工科大学生使用连词的频数过多而使用连词的种类偏少。针对学生普遍存在的连词使用问题,研究从母语迁移和知识掌握等方面进行了分析,进而对学生的学习和教师的教学提出了建议,以期帮助学生提高英语口语中使用连词的能力,更好地内化地道的英语口语表达。This study, by employing Contrastive Interlanguage Analysis and corpus analytical tools, carries out a systematic study on Chinese science and engineering majors' (SEMs') use of connectives in oral English. It is designed to unfold the features of connective use by SEMs with different English proficiency levels as well as the features and problems in comparison with native English speakers' norms. The study results show that there is no statistically sig- nificant difference in the overall frequency of connective use among SEMs, but there is a significant difference in con- nective varieties. Compared with native speakers, SEMs tend to overuse English connectives but underuse connective varieties. As for the common problems, the study analyzes the underlying causes from the aspects of first language transfer and insufficient knowledge about target language. It then puts forward some implications for English learning and teaching, with the purpose of helping college students improve their accuracy of connective use in oral communication and internalize native English speakers' norms of oral expression.
