摘　　要：大学英语教学与改革必须以满足社会对大学英语人才的要求为方向。本文在社会调查的基础上,分析了社会用人单位以及大学毕业生本人对英语能力的要求,指出了目前大学英语教学中的长处与某些不足,并就如何满足大学英语的社会需求提出了一些建议。It is generally accepted that college English teaching and reform must be guided by social needs. On the basis of an investigation, this paper analyzes the market needs and the graduates＇ expectations for college English teaching and learning. It also discusses the strong as well as the weak points in present college English teaching. Finally, suggestions on how to meet the employment market needs are provided for college English teaching and reform.
