摘　　要：许渊冲先生于1979年提出了诗歌翻译的"三美"原则,即"意美"、"音美"、"形美"。鉴于英汉习语本身同样体现着"三美",因此,在英汉习语翻译过程中,完全可以借鉴"三美论"理论来处理英汉习语翻译中的意象与修辞。In 1979,Xu Yuan-chong proposed ＂The Three-Aesthetics Principle＂ in poetry translation,namely,aesthetics in sense,rhyme and form.As this principle is embodied in both Chinese and English idioms,it,hence,could be applied to dealing with the images and rhetoric in the original idioms during the translation process of Chinese and English idioms.
