摘 要:图式理论是非母语英语课程教学中的重要理论指导,它揭示出读者结合自身已有的知识经验理解文本信息的过程。本文在总结图式阅读理论的基础上,提出有必要在英语专业的阅读课程教学中运用图式理论进行教学设计。文章认为阅读课程教学应以建立英语阅读的语言、文化和形式图式为目标,在教学活动中结合这三种形式的图式建构,通过丰富的课堂活动和课外阅读实践,扩大学生的语言、语篇和文化的知识储备,不断提高阅读课的教学水平。Schema theory is an important concept in ESL teaching,which describes the process in which readers combine their own background knowledge with the information in a text for comprehension.This paper summarizes some of the researches into schema theory and its applications to ESL reading.Some pre-reading tasks need to be designed to build or activate the English major's schemata.The goals of building corresponding schema in the reading class are highlighted,such as language schema,culture-specific schema and form schema.The author also proposes the use of the schema-theoretic approach in the reading class and points out the importance of both developing learner's vocabulary and expanding knowledge by extensive reading in building students' reading schema.
