汉英翻译中“不可译”因素之辩

摘　　要：语言是文化的载体,中西方文化背景的差异使汉语和英语在语言结构和表达方式上都有较大差别,也形成了汉英翻译中的一些不可译因素,主要表现在语言形式、文化内涵和作品风格上的不可译,但这种"不可译"只是一个限度,若译者深入分析不可译的因素,即可使译文尽量接近原文的内容和风格。Language is the carrier of its culture.Cultural differences between China and the West give rise to the differences in linguistic structure and modes of expression between Chinese and English,and thus result in some untranslatable factors in Chinese-English translation,which are mainly reflected in the linguistic forms,the cultural connotation and the style of works.However ＂untranslatability＂ is actually a matter of degree.The analysis of the untranslatable factors would help translators make their works more conformed to the content and style of the original text.
