摘  要:19世纪60年代,德国掀起了一场赫尔巴特学派运动,赫尔巴特教育思想很快传遍了世界各地。19世纪末,运动的中心由德国转移到美国,随即促成了一场规模宏大的教育改革运动,使美国教育尤其是基础教育的观念、课程设置、教学方法、师资培训等各方面朝着教育科学化方向大踏步前进,并对美国后来的基础教育发展产生了深远而持久的影响。赫尔巴特教育思想之所以能对美国基础教育改革起到巨大促进作用,除客观需要外,主要是因为美国赫尔巴特学派使德国赫尔巴特学派的教育理论与当时美国的社会和教育实际相结合,对其进行了合理改造,并赋予了其更加丰富的理论内涵和实践意义。In the I960s, a movement of Herbartian School emerged in Germany. Herbart's educational thoughts spread all over the world rapidly. By the end of the 19th century, the center of the movement had been transferred from Germany to America, and immediately brought an educational reform move- ment on a large scale. It exerted profound and permanent influence on American basic education in the aspects of educational notion, curriculum provision, teaching methods, teacher training, etc. In addi- tion to the objective needs, the main reason why Herbart's educational thoughts were able to play a great role in promoting American educational reform is that American Herbartian School combined the educational theory of German Herbartian school with the social and educational reality of that time of A- merica, and transformed it reasonably, giving its more extensive theoretical contents and practical sig- nificance.
