摘 要:海南农村中学英语教师的专业发展需求调查显示,大都分农村中学英语教师对新课程缺乏理解,原因在于英语学科教学知识和能力不足,对教师专业发展目标、内容和基本方式等缺乏必要的了解,这不但与学历偏低相关,更与其继续学习和发展的社会环境有关。为农村中学英语教师提供互动性反思的文化环境与条件,应该成为教育管理者和教师教育者的基本职责。From a survey on the EFL teachers in rural middle schools in Hainan, it is found that some- thing is lacking in the teachers" understanding of the New English Curriculum as their pedagogic content knowledge (PCK) needs to be improved, including their understanding of the goal, the content and the bas- ic ways of teachers" professional development. Therefore, it is the responsibility for the administrators and EFL teacher educators to provide a supportive learning environment and necessary conditions for the rural EFL teachers'interactive reflection on their classroom teachin~ in their teacher community.
