《牡丹亭》翻译研究现状评述

摘　　要：文章通过追溯《牡丹亭》英译的历程,对《牡丹亭》翻译研究的现状进行分析,发现《牡丹亭》译本众多、译者名家辈出而《牡丹亭》翻译研究却相对滞后的事实,希望翻译界有更多的研究者来关注《牡丹亭》的翻译研究,从而推动中国传统文化精髓的继承与发展。Tang Xianzu＇s play The Peony Pavilion is one of the most wonderful works in ancient China,which is now enjoying a world-wide prestige.This paper,based on a brief review of the course of translating The Peony Pavilion into English and literatures on the study of translation of The Peony Pavilion,reveals that the study of translation of The Peony Pavilion is far from satisfactory,although the play has had a few English versions translated by some well-known scholars.By revealing this lagging behind status quo,we hope that more scholars will pay attention to the study of translation of The Peony Pavilion.
