摘　　要："爲"之字形,确不像"母猴",而像"手牵象形"。古籍中确有用"爲"表示猴的用法,但应视为假借,其本字当是"蜼"。《说文解字》以"母猴"训"爲",实反映了古籍中"爲"字的假借用法。The word shape of wei（为） isn＇t like monkey but like leading an elephant with one＇s hand.There have been used wei（为） to expressing monkey in the old literatures,but they should be looked as Jia Jie（假借）,their proper words are wei（蜼）.Explaining wei（为）as monkey in Shuo Wen（说文）,they showed the Jia Jie（假借） usage of wei（为） in the old literatures in fact.
