摘　　要：著名翻译家林语堂热爱中国古典诗词并将许多优秀作品译成英语,在西方产生非常积极的影响。林语堂的诗词翻译之所以能达到如此高度并受到广泛欢迎,主要源于三个方面的原因:正确的诗学观保证对原作深度的理解,他所创立的翻译美学观为其翻译实践提供了理论依据;译者驾驭中英双语水平则成就其翻译达到高超境界。三者结合使林语堂的诗词翻译成为中国诗词翻译史上具有标志性意义的典范。The well - known translator Mr. Lin Yutang loved ancient Chinese poems so much that he put many excellent clas- sics into English, which have positive influence in the west. The translations of Chinese ancient poems by Lin Yutang have en- joyed great popularity and prestige in the academic fields because of the following reasons ： his views on poetics, his aesthetic views on literary, translation and his skilful handling of both Chinese and English languages.
