摘 要:从社会心理学认同理论出发,借鉴认知语言学对隐喻的研究成果,采用调查问卷与访谈相结合的方法,对在华高等学校任教及曾经任教的外籍英语教师对教师职业的隐喻性理解进行调查。从与学生关系、对语言自身、对教学方法、对自身职业发展的认识等方面对这些隐喻进行归类分析,结果显示他们这些认识与对自身职业的隐喻性认识密切相关。Based on the Social Identification Theory in social psychology,as well as the study on metaphor from cognitive linguistic point of view,an investigation was made of metaphors foreign English teachers use to describe their professional identities through questionaires and interviews.The metaphors were grouped and analysed from four aspects: teachers' relationship with students,their perceptions of language,their understandings of teaching methodology,and their views for self professional development.Results show that these aspects are closely related to the metaphorical perception of oneself as a teacher.
