摘　　要：二战后美国联邦政府开始制定政策资助高校外语教育,其外语教育政策以立法为保障,以满足国家战略需求为目标,并以项目资助的形式进行。在联邦政府的政策资助下,美国高校逐步成为国家语言资源和人才的储备库,进而满足了美国在不同时期国家安全、外交及经济发展的战略需要。The U.S.Federal Government began to support universities' foreign language education since World War II.Based on laws,the federal policies take the form of sponsoring teaching and research programs of foreign languages to meet the national strategic needs.With the support of federal government,American universities have gradually become national storehouses of language resources and talents and play an important role in meeting the national needs in security,diplomacy and economic development.
