The famous English female writer Iris Murdoch constructs several mirror images in her novel The Bell. The heroin Dora lives in a mirror world constituted by the mirror of self, the mirror of the other, the mirror of space and other images, in which she goes through a hard journey from losing self to establishing her self identity. Ac- cording to the spiritual analysis of Lacan, the authentic truth of the mirror life of Dora is nothing but the life of the other; while Murdoch constitutes a moral philosophy centered on "attention", which brings revival hope to people lost in Lacan's tragic conclusion.
