The Effect of Teacher's Image on the Multimedia Video Learning

摘  要:教师角色在多媒体教学视频中已得到广泛应用。为了考察教师角色在多媒体视频学习中的作用,研究从多媒体教学视频中内容的不同呈现方式入手,采用眼动技术,探讨了多媒体视频内容不同区域注视与学习效果的关系。实验一将教学视频内容分为教师形象区与文字PPT区,实验二以图片PPT替换文字PPT。结果发现:(1)动态的教师形象区较易吸引学习者的注意力,被试对视频中教师形象的加工多于文字PPT;(2)当教学视频中同时呈现教师形象与文字PPT时,对教师形象的注视与学习效果之间呈正相关;当教学视频中同时呈现教师形象和图片PPT时,教师角色和学习成效之间没有很大的相关性。The image of the teacher has been widely used in the multimedia instructional videos. Two experiments were conducted to explore the effect of teacher's image in the multimedia video learning. Eye tracking technique was used to record online learning data. In Experiment 1, the multimedia teaching video was divided into the teacher's image region and the PPT text region. In Experiment 2, the PPT text region was replaced by the PPT picture to generalize the resuhs of experiment 1. The results indicated as follows: The dynamic region of teacher's image was easier to attract the learners' attention, and was processed more sufficiently than the text region. The teacher's image seem to facilitate the processing of instruction material and lead to better learning performance when the teacher's image region and PPT text region were all included in the teaching video. However, when the teacher's image region and PPT picture region were presented simultaneously, there was no relationship between teacher's image and learning outcomes.
