摘  要:学习动机是影响外语学习成效的关键因素之一。外语学习动机可分为工具性动机和综合性动机,也可分为内在动机和外在动机。我国小学生的英语学习动机主要以工具性动机和外在动机为主,但是内在动机也会成为小学生英语学习的主要动机。小学英语教师应重视激发小学生英语学习的内在动机,合理地发挥工具性动机和外在动机对英语学习的促进作用,并尽可能创造条件培养和激发小学生的综合性英语学习动机。Learning motivation is one of the critical factors involved in a person' s learning of a foreign language. Foreign language learning motivation can be classified into instrumental motivation and integrative motivation, or intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. For primary school students in China, their motivations to learn English are mostly instrumental motivation and intrinsic motivation, but integrative motivation can also become their major motivation. Primary school English teachers should attach great importance to arousing their students' intrinsic motivation and making appropriate use of instrumental motiva- tion and extrinsic motivation. Moreover, they should make great efforts to cultivate and arouse their students' integrative learning motivation.
