A Diachronic Study of Content Validity of Reading Comprehension in NMET of Anhui Province

摘  要:阅读是外语学习者获取语言知识和提高语言能力的主要途径,阅读理解能力是衡量学习者外语水平的重要指标。依据测试效度理论,我们以2005-2011年间安徽省高考英语阅读理解试题为对象,验证其内容效度的高低。结果表明,该省高考英语阅读测试符合《课程标准》和《考试说明》的相关要求,命题合理,具有较高的内容效度。同时,部分阅读题项的命制仍有不足,需要改进优化,如单个试卷体裁分布稍过集中、高层次阅读技能的考查略显薄弱等。Reading is the major route for foreign language learners to acquire language knowledge andimprove their linguistic ability.Reading comprehension is an important index for measuring learners'level offoreign language.Making use of validity theory of language testing,the writer of this article,in order to verify theirvalidity,analyzes the NMET reading comprehension tests of Anhui Province from 2005 to 2011.The resultssuggest that the tests have met the related requirements of the Curriculum Standard and Instructions for Tests,andthe tests were compiled reasonablely,with a high content validity.However,there are still deficiencies in settingthe reading comprehension questions,which need to be improved.For example,some papers are concentrated onlimited genres,and high-level reading techniques are not adequately tested.
