摘　　要：语言是文化的载体,习语是语言中浓缩的精华,集中体现了语言的文化特征。英汉习语由于其各种丰富的来源深刻地带上了文化的烙印,要准确理解翻译这些带有鲜明民族文化特征的语言并非易事。本文探讨了英语习语翻译中需要注意的几个问题,针对习语的文化性提出了四种翻译方法,并认为直译法更能保持原语文化、丰富译语文化、促进跨文化交流。[Abstract]Language is the carrier of culture. As the essence of language, idioms reflect distinctive cultural features. To understand and translate English idioms with strong domestic cultural flavor faithfully and smoothly is not an easy task. This paper discusses three problems encountered in the translation of English idioms and recommends four translation methods. It also holds that literal translation is the optimal method, since it preserves the source culture, enriches the target culture and enhances cross-cultural change.
