摘 要:人们常常将意象作为诗歌语法中的"词"来看待,翻译中注重其在文本中所具有的语言美学价值,而忽略了意象作为诗歌生命活性细胞所具有的诗性功能与诗艺价值。本文以古诗中特称与总称意象的翻译为例,探讨其在翻译中诗艺、诗美的实现状况及其成因,阐明"意象思维"之于目前古诗翻译研究的价值与意义。Imagery, generally referred to as word(s) in the grammar of poetry, is much represented in terms of linguistic aestheticness in the English versions of classical Chinese poems. However, little has been done in the translation study of its poetic function and artistic value in the poetry, where it is the living cell of poetic texture. With special reference to the English translations of specific and general images in classical Chinese poems, the paper analyzes how their artistic values and aesthet- icness are reproduced and their resulting reasons in order to reveal the value and significance of "imagery thinking " in the study of the English translations of classical Chinese poems.
