书名汉译 字字珠玑——关于两部名著译名的学与思

摘　　要：本文涉及笔者围绕两部著名英语小说的书名、副名及其汉译而学习和思考的心得,主要分三部分:第一部分谈《汤姆大伯的小屋或贱民生涯》是较好译名的原因;第二部分是对《名利场》之译为何能够独领风骚问题作答;第三部分是全文重点,主要讨论《名利场》的副名之正确汉译。This article relates what we have learned from our reading and thinking of the two famous novels＇ titles, subtitles, and their Chinese translations. It in the main consists of three parts： Part One tells why Huang Jizhong＇s translation of the titles is better; Part Two answers the question why is Yang Bi＇s Chinese translation of Vanity Fair as a title the best; Part Three is the main part of the article, mainly discusses the proper Chinese translation of the subtitle A Novel without a Hero.
