广西民族地区高校EAGP课程设置的可行性与必要性分析

摘　　要：大学通用英语(EGP)教学已经严重不能满足社会与个人对英语能力发展的更高需求,学术英语的重要性日渐凸显。为了实现大学英语教学由通用英语教学向专业英语教学的过渡,文章探讨了广西民族地区高校设置通用学术用途英语(EGAP)的可行性和必要性。Based on the fact that EGAP （English for Academic Purposes） serves as a bridging program between EGP （English for General Purpose） and ESP） English for Special Purpose） at the stage of improvement in college English teaching, thus contributing to the development of students＇ academic English competence. This paper gives an analysis of the necessity and feasibilities of EGAP course in Universities in Guangxi Autonomous Region.
