城市标识用语英译失误例析——以甘肃省张掖市为例

摘　　要：城市公示语作为一种应用文体,旨在介绍特定的国家和城市。但是由于语言和文化的差异,城市公示语的英译往往不尽如人意。从语言翻译误差、语用翻译误差、文化翻译误差和文本翻译误差四个方面,对甘肃省张掖市的英文标识用语存在的问题进行了归纳分析,旨在改善该市公示语的使用环境。As a practical style, public signs aim to introduce our country and cities to foreigners. However, because of the language and culture differences, the translation of public signs appears to be far from satisfaction. The paper, from the four perspectives of language translation error, pragmatic translation error, cultural translation error and text translation error, summarizes and analyzes the problems in the rendering of public signs in the city of Zhangye, Gansu province, with the aim to improve the English translation quality of public signs in this city.
